ARCHIVED: Read your Imail or Umail on an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad

Important:
Imail was retired on November 19, 2019. You can no longer access your Imail account and its associated services (for example, calendar and contact lists).
You can connect to your Imail account through Exchange ActiveSync:
- From the Home screen:
- iOS 11: Choose .
- iOS 10: Choose Note:Older versions of iOS may have aitem instead of , and may not have a separate .

- Enter the following:
- Email:
username@imail.iu.edu
- Description: This is an optional field. You can leave it blank, or enter something like
My Imail
.
- Email:
- Tap ARCHIVED: Imail vendor password, not your IU passphrase. Tap again. . If you're asked to sign into your account using Microsoft, tap . Enter your
- You may need to fill out the following fields:
- Domain: Leave this field blank.
- Username:
username@imail.iu.edu
- Server:
outlook.office365.com
- Tap .
- At this point, you can choose to have your contacts, calendars, and mail synchronized with your phone. Once you have made your selections, tap .
If you are unable to connect to your Imail account through ActiveSync, try connecting your device to an IU network (wireless or the IU VPN).
Note:
If you are having trouble sending and receiving mail on your iOS device, you may want to remove the email account and then re-add it. Check your device instructions for assistance.
Umail
Important:
Umail is only for former students who do not have an active status (for example, faculty, staff) and who separated from IU prior to March 11, 2018; see ARCHIVED: About the Umail upgrade. Current students use ARCHIVED: Gmail at IU. If you're unsure about what type of account you have, contact your campus Support Center.
Important:

You can connect to your Umail account by configuring it as a Gmail account on your device:
- Enable IMAP for your Umail account; see ARCHIVED: Enable IMAP for your Umail account.
- From the Home screen:
- iOS 11: Choose .

- When prompted, complete the following fields:
