ARCHIVED: About Carbonate at IU (Retired)
Carbonate was a large-memory research supercomputer at Indiana University. Designed to support data-intensive computing, Carbonate was well-suited for running genome analysis applications requiring large amounts of computer memory. UITS Research Technologies retired Carbonate on December 17, 2023. For current information about IU research supercomputers, see Supercomputers for academic research at IU.
Research Desktop (RED) and the colocation service on Carbonate were not included in the December 17, 2023, retirement. To inquire about the colocation service on Carbonate, contact the High Performance Systems (HPS) team.
